It's been awhile...

Well, I'm back again. I know, you were probably thinking I already gave up on my New Years Resolution! Nope, I've just been really busy and/or lazy! ;-)
So since the last time, not much has changed. I'm actually struggling with what to even write about right now. Hmm....I've been reading a lot! I finally finished the Twilight series a few weeks ago, gotta say, not too impressed! Right now I am reading "Best Friends Forever" by Jennifer Weiner and I LOVE it. Her books are so funny! I highly recommend "Good in Bed" and the sequel "Certain Girls".  I've had a long time dream of writing my own novel, which I've actually started and it's much harder than anticipated. I think I"m going to read a few more books before I continue my own. I must say, my plot is quite intriging...stay tuned ;-) and wish me luck!
So 2 sundays ago, my heart was broken when the Vikings lost to the damn Saints! :-) Great game to watch, but man the VIKES made some dumb mistakes. It should be them playing the Colts this Sunday. Oh well, maybe next year. I guess I'll cheer for the Saints on Sunday, if I even watch at all!
A few weekends ago, Jared and I went to the little town of Volga, near the city of  Brookings to hang out with some good friends! We had "Seafood Boil 2010" our new yearly tradition! We boiled Colossal King Crab legs (overnighted to us from Alaska), shrimp, potatoes, corn on the cob, and sausage! Oh Yum!! It was so delicious! There were 4 couples and each of us got ONE crab leg...yes only one, but they were huge and $25/leg! Eeeek! So worth it though. After our feast we played a few friendly rounds of Catch Phrase! My Gosh, that game makes your stomach muscles hurt from all the laughs! Great time! Oh how I wish we lived closer to our friends! It's so nice to spend time with them. Sadly, we are planning to move farther away in a couple years. Stay tuned for details!
Tonight I am at work...again! So far it's been a great/quiet night! Lately, we've been so dang busy. It hasn't been just the usual "why the heck did you come to the ER for that?" patients, we've had some very sick patients! Right now, my only patient is an old Native American man that was brought her by police because he was too drunk to go to jail. Normally, that wouldn't bother me and once they were medically cleared, we'd just call PD and have them pick them up and throw them in jail. But tonight, I have a soft spot for this one. He's just so sweet and sadly, has no family or friends to come get him. Honestly, if I had no family or friends, i'd be extremely intoxicated on a daily basis too! The look in this man's eyes is just so sad. So, I talked our Dr. into letting him just sleep it off here tonight instead of jail! I hooked him up with some TV, warm blankets, pillows, and food. He says "thank you" for every little thing I do, and I'm so glad he can have just one warm night here with some positive attention. Poor guy! :-(
So, I was nice and picked up weekend hours for a co-worker this weekend so she could go to Flordia! I'm kinda regretting it now, but at least I have a free weekend to use whenever I wish now! I do have Sunday off, so if I do choose to watch the SB, I can!
Well, I think i've bored you (whoever "you" is, not sure anyone reads this) enough! Soon I plan to add some home projects to my blog! I have all the things I need now to make some really cool "wall art"...now I just need to find the time. Stay tuned for that! It should be interesting. Oh and hopefully soon, I'll have pictures of our new, finished, master bathroom! It's so close! The flatscreen was mounted perfectly across from the jacuzzi last night!! Now only the tile shower to go!! ....ugh, let's just hope Jared has the ambition this Saturday while I'm at work!
That's all for now! Keep wondering...
